What makes a plantation shutter worth it
Plantation shutters are the only window covering that’s genuinely part of the house — furniture-grade joinery, fitted to the opening, adding value that shows up at resale. What matters when you buy them:
- Louver size — 2½″, 3½″, or 4½″. Bigger louvers, bigger view and more light; smaller reads more traditional. We bring samples so you see it on your window, not a brochure.
- The fit — a real custom shutter is measured to the opening’s exact squareness, not cut down from stock. That’s the difference you feel every time it closes.
- Mount style — inside mount for the clean built-in look, outside mount when the opening calls for it. We’ll show you both.

Wood or composite for plantation shutters?

Yes — closed louvers add a real insulating layer against summer heat, and they’re one of the few coverings that also add resale value.
How long until they’re installed?
Custom shutters are built to your measurements, so manufacturing takes several weeks — your written quote gives you the honest timeline up front, and installation itself is typically a single visit.
