The decision that matters

It’s all about the fabric

A roller shade is a simple machine — the decision that changes your life is the fabric. Three honest categories:

  • Blackout — total light stop. Bedrooms, nurseries, media rooms. Pair with a snug fit to kill the light gap at the edges.
  • Light-filtering — privacy plus a soft glow. The living-space default.
  • Sheer/screen fabrics — keep your view and cut the glare and heat; the openness percentage sets how much you see through. Great for view homes and west-facing glass.

Fascia and cassette options hide the roll for a finished, built-in look — worth seeing in samples.

“The sample in your window at 4pm tells you more than any catalog page ever will.”

Straight answers

How shade and blind pricing works

We don’t publish a price, and we’d rather explain why than hand you a number that turns out to be wrong. Shades and blinds are made to the window they hang in. Yours are built to your measurements, not pulled off a shelf in a standard size. A firm price before measuring is a guess, and guesses get corrected upward later.

What actually moves the number:

  • How many windows you’re covering
  • Size of each opening — a small bathroom window and a wide slider are not the same job
  • Fabric and opacity — how much light you want to keep, filter or block
  • Manual or motorized
  • How they mount in your openings, and how easy those openings are to reach

What you get instead of a guess: a free in-home estimate with samples, and an exact price in writing for your openings — no obligation. Financing is available over 84 months on approved credit, and the lender confirms the terms. We also offer a price match guarantee; your estimator explains exactly how it works.

The process

How the work actually runs

Four steps — and the family is involved in every one of them.

  • Free in-home estimate, with samples. We look at every opening you’re considering and bring the actual materials so you can see and handle them. No obligation.
  • Professional measure. Every opening is measured properly, because what you order is manufactured to those measurements.
  • Custom manufacturing. Your shades are then made to your windows — Norman lines, including motorized and roller shades.
  • Installed by the family’s own crew. Not handed to whichever subcontractor is free that week.

We’ll give you realistic expectations on timing in person, once we know what you’re ordering — manufacturing time depends on what you choose, and we’d rather be accurate than optimistic.

Questions

Common questions

Can roller shades be motorized?

Yes — rollers are the most popular shade to motorize. See our motorized shades page for power and control options.

Will blackout really mean blackout?

The fabric blocks the light; the fit controls the edges. We measure tight and talk honestly about mounting choices so you get the darkness you’re actually after.

What about wide or extra-tall windows?

Large openings are exactly where custom matters — we’ll spec the right system so wide shades hang straight and operate smoothly for years.

Do you repair windows, or replace glass only?

No — we’re a replacement company. We don’t take on repairs or glass-only work, and we don’t install skylights. If that’s what you need, we’d rather tell you now than waste your afternoon.

Which areas do you serve?

Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties, plus parts of Riverside and San Bernardino. If you’re not sure whether you’re in range, call and ask — it’s a thirty-second answer.

Which shades and blinds do you install?

Norman lines — including motorized and roller shades. For replacement windows we install Milgard, and we make custom interior shutters. We don’t carry every brand on the market, and we’ll tell you plainly what we do and don’t sell.

Do I have to decide at the estimate?

No. The estimate is free and there’s no obligation. You get your measurements and an exact price in writing, and you take as long as you like with it.

When can I reach you?

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Messages left after hours or at the weekend are checked, and we’ll come back to you.
